About the Rocky
Mission / Vision Statement
The Rocky Mountain Folk Club provides intimate performances of quality traditional and original folk/roots music to Calgary audiences while it also provides listening audiences to both developing and seasoned musicians. We showcase artists from across the globe while investing in the future of original, hand-hewn Alberta music by specifically supporting local talent.
It’s our intent to nurture community, connection and excellence in folk/roots music by bringing together musicians and audiences for the shared human experience which this music affords.
What to Expect
Each night begins with a set by one of our house bands, either Horizon Ridge or one of several other fine local groups. Horizon Ridge includes Steve and Helen Goodchild, Dianne Quinton and Peter May. All are singers & songwriters with a passion for story-telling.
During the rest of the evening we will present two sets featuring various combinations of touring performers and some of the great local talent available in Calgary.
